The purpose of a dinner is to bring together people that matter most to you and enjoy good food while creating priceless memories. Use these handy tips to throw your next fun and stress–free dinner party!
Presentation is key. Before you begin picking away at your menu options you must first pick a theme. Your theme will be your inspiration for the menu. I prefer nationality themes like: Mediterranean, Italian, Mexican, American, Asian, Caribbean, etc. Once you have your theme set keep your pretty platters, bowls, cheese boards and napkins (either cloth or paper) simple. I prefer all white or clear platters and allow my food to be the pop of color on the table. The same method goes for your center piece; nice white roses in a clear vase is simple and stress-free!
Family Style Main Dishes. Once you have your presentation plan down do your best to avoid cooking too much and spending a crazy amount of money which causes stress. I like to go with family style dishes and meats that go a long way, and don’t forget your veges. Fun salads, stir-fries, and roasted vegetables saves a ton of time and are perfect side dishes!
Have a Signature Cocktail. You can always go crazy with a variety of drinks or you can create a tasty snappy signature cocktail your guest will enjoy! Don’t forget to have one yourself before your guest arrive ;).
Allow Guest to Help. You are probably saying to yourself…she forgot the dessert. This is the most important tip…Don’t try and do it all! One of the best ways to having a stress-free dinner party is to ask friends and family to bring something, whether it’s wine, beer or dessert. I almost always ask people to bring wine and dessert.
