The Confection Collection: Delectable Designs from Garden to Runway! On November 11th the elites of Naples, Florida celebrated the 12th Anniversary of Hats in the Garden. The annual Hats in the Garden fundraiser has been an introduction of the Naples social season and attracts the who’s who in town and even attracts guest out of state visiting the Naples, FL area. Fashionable guests mainly women with a few bold men come to display their stunning millinery, support Naples Botanical Garden, and to enjoy a delicious luncheon and runway show.
Being a fashionista I was truly excited about the splendor fashions from Saks Fifth Avenue Naples and the runway show. Walking through the event space the decor and runway blew me away. This year couture fashion and decor collided with confection collection with creations made and inspired out of 100% sugar. Local confectioners created hats and even wearable pieces!
“The inspiration came from items in the garden that are edible like the sugar cane and chocolate,” says Rufino Hernandez, with Garden District and Creative Director of Hats in the Garden.
At first glance backstage I recognized the Carolina Herrera collection from New York Fashion Week (which took place at The Frick museum on the Upper East Side of New York. Photos above). Backstage Danielle Vigliotti, Marketing Director of SAKS Fifth Avenue Naples took the mic for some fashion talk and Courtney Trittler with Kakes by Karen showed us some sweet wearable fashionable pieces! Thank you ladies! Great team work!
Did you adore my style for Hats in the Garden? A classic Taylor Dress, royal blue BCBGeneration pumps (sold out), and my mother’s black hat from her vintage hat collection.
