A few months ago I decided to give some of this homemade facial DIY stuff a try. The main reason for trying was for my eczema and acne. So far I am loving the homemade facial scrubs I have tried. I am not saying that I no longer purchase store bought products. As woman on the go I don’t usually have the time to whip up organic skincare. My DIY facial scrub, cleanser, and mask recipe cards only make out of the box on rainy days, special occasions, on Me times when the kids are out of the house for a few hours, or on a relaxed Friday night while catching up on Netflix. I truly hope you enjoy this all natural, toxin free, and super easy facial scrub. It’s one of my favs!
What you need:
1. Raw Organic Honey
The raw honey has anti-bacterial properties, anti-viral and anti-fungal. It’s great for acne and draws moisture to the skin, leaving it soft and supple.
2. Brown Sugar
Brown sugar is a coarse type of sugar that is colored with molasses, and does not contain chemical preservatives that may irritate your skin.
3. Coconut Oil
I swear by coconut oil! Like the honey it’s naturally antibacterial, antifungal, and an excellent moisturizer.
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and mix together well creating a paste. I store my batch in a small jar with an air tight lid. Be sure to keep it at room temperature if you do create a batch.
TO USE: Wash face well. Apply a small amount of the facial scrub to wet skin and massage gently in a circular motion. Avoid eye area. Rinse face well with warm water, press dry with warm washcloth, slather your skin with your favorite moisturizer. Try this once a week.
One of the benefits of using this facial scrub, it can speed up the shedding process and pave the way for smoother, more supple skin. Please note that I am not an expert and simply sharing my personal experience. Different things will work for different people and this is facial scrub has worked for me! Keep in mind this scrub is even better during winter months.
