During Miami Swim Week I was invited to a fabulous brunch for Akai Swimwear at the Seagrape at Thompson Miami Beach Hotel to view their current new 2015 line. On the brunch menu was all of my favorite options to choose from. I have said many times before…I love to eat! It was only appropriate to try a bit of everything lol. I indulged in scrambled eggs, bacon cooked to perfection, croissant, fruits, oatmeal, yogurt, and mimosas!
The brunch menu was not the only impressive highlight but also the awesome connections and girl talk I was able to have with the Akai Swimwear designers Daniela Longo and Chabeli De Sousa; two best friends who live in Miami but from Venezuela . Our girl talk went from designing Akai SwimWear, the inspiration behind the Akai brand, and their list of things to do in the Miami area during their downtime.
Get to know Akai SwimWear
Akai swimwear is a fun creative mix of European class and Caribbean flavor. A perfect marriage combination of elegance with exotic flare. Founded in 2014 by two best friends, Akai Swimwear brand is dedicated to maintaining the individuality of each creation, producing just a limited number of pieces per collection. Both Daniela and Chabeli believe in the true appreciation for quality and handcrafted detail. They call it a passion for fashion! The girls describe the Akai swimwear line as classy and full of their fun personality. Straight from Colombia, each uniquely designed piece stands out to create effortless beauty. Akai Swimwear is designed to look and feel good – not just on the rack. I have been following the Akai brand on Instagram since the launch so naturally I was excited about seeing the current swim wear line.
