Okay so it’s 2017 and that means half of the women around the world has either started a new diet, a weight loss program, and eating healthier. If you’re like me then you may need a little help sticking to your new lifestyle.
I love to snack! I snack while I’m writing, snack while watching TV, snack while sipping on wine…call me a snack-o-holic.
It’s a few weeks into my NEW lifestyle/diet/weight loss lol and I’ve found a few healthy snack options that are must shares. These snacks are not only healthy but there also yummy!
Grapes And Walnuts
I love grapes and nuts especially walnuts. Grapes are super sweet which helps with sugar cravings and walnuts are filling. A cup of grapes and a handful of walnuts together are a power-combo of natural sugars, fiber, healthy fats, and protein.
Wheat Thins And Cottage Cheese
Turn your cottage cheese into a dip! If I have time, I like to add diced celery or cucumbers with sprinkled salt. Dip your Wheat Thins in the cottage cheese, or enjoy them side-by-side. A half-cup serving of cottage cheese contains one-quarter of your recommended daily intake of protein. Rather than a nonfat variety, go for 2% or even full-fat. The fat combined with the protein will keep your stomach full until dinner time.
Get your Mediterranean diet on: Cucumbers, Kalamata olives, and hummus are all high in fiber, low in fat, and pair perfectly for a snack that feels more like a meal. A pretty meal too! This is a perfect snack tray to create at the office, while watching your favorite afternoon TV show, or invite a few girlfriends over for lunch and girl talk.
Banana With Peanut Butter
A tablespoon or so of peanut butter with sliced bananas is so good. This snack is one of my favorite easy go to snacks. The carbs will give you a quick mood and energy spike, while the protein will keep the energy going for hours.
Apple Slices With Cheese
Did you know an apple a day could help prevent weight gain? Pair a gala apple with a half-inch slice of sharp cheddar cheese, another perfect combination of sweet and salty mix with a crunch!
I love hard boiled eggs at any time of the day but when hunger strikes, a hardboiled egg is a great grab-and-go snack when prepped in advanced. It’s high in protein, which will curb your appetite and keep you from reaching for something less-than-healthy. Plus, it’s packed with nutrients like vitamins D and B12, but only contains 77 calories! Simply prep a bunch of hard-boiled eggs at once. If you like spice, drizzle your snack with sriracha sauce. It contains capsaicin, a compound found in chile peppers that helps burn calories and fat. BONUS!!!!
Turkey And Avocado
For a no-carb, protein-rich snack that slows digestion and prevents cravings you’ll truly like to roll up your organic lean turkey breast with avocado slices. If you desire more flavor or spice simply add a spread of hummus, drizzle your snack with sriracha sauce or add mustard for an additional metabolism-boosting power. I never leave home without sriracha sauce. 😉
